<description>I&#039;m really enjoying being redirected to these older posts ... and want only to comment on the &quot;knees up&quot; thing.
Maybe I have my timing wrong, but could your recollections, and the kids shouts, about an English style of running, be connected to Chariots of Fire, and that crazy notion of a professional coach, and practice, and all those ungentlemanly ideas?

<description>Er, isn&#039;t that a bit of an oxymoron, &#039;a famous public soccer pitch&#039; in England? All the famous pitches/stadia here are privately owned...
Which means they probably went to a park... :-)

		<description>Grant,
Meaning creation/ meaning manufacture??? More like a straightforward appropriation or better yet enclosure... from public/common into private/Nike. I bet they’ve already trademarked the phrase.

<description>Great post Grant. I am glad you are out mixing it up so I don&#039;t have to.
I am fascinated by the process by which an increasingly jaded culture creates authenticity by divorcing invention (as opposed to selection) from the creative process.
There is so much cool yet to be mined from chaos. I regret that the pink puffy insulation of age will reduce it all to mere tailings in my eyes.
