Landsman uttered to Bunk last night: &quot;We&#039;re going to go large Richard on McNulty&#039;s case...&quot; I roared. Karen looked quizzical. Me: get it?&quot; Karen: &quot;um...no.&quot; I explained. Two minutes later, Bunk spelled out the explanation en passant. It&#039;s the kind of tiny moment The Wire delivers every episode. Sadly, only three more to go.

Yes, a classic example of what you describe was Rawls in that scene in that club. Just a glimpse of him. And that&#039;s it, no exposition, never elaborated upon or pursued.
